NANTES

Zen Dojo - France

About Us

The dojo was founded in 1985 by Mireille Juillard, a nun ordained by Master Taisen Deshimaru. We are a non-profit association (French law 1901) and affiliated with the AZI. The dojo is open to anyone wishing to practice zazen, regardless of gender, race, class or religious beliefs. In addition, each participant is free in his or her practice, in terms of both how frequently they sit zazen and who they choose as a spiritual guide. We would, however, like to state that currently the dojo leader and several elder members are disciples of Philippe Coupey, and therefore we often refer to his teaching.
