{"id":1319,"date":"2017-04-24T11:32:22","date_gmt":"2017-04-24T09:32:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stage.zen-road.org\/?p=1319"},"modified":"2020-07-14T12:38:37","modified_gmt":"2020-07-14T10:38:37","slug":"home-zen-sans-demeure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/zen-road.org\/en\/home-zen-sans-demeure\/","title":{"rendered":"Zen sans demeure &#8211; no dwelling place"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2338\" src=\"https:\/\/zen-road.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/P1270734small.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"819\" height=\"614\" srcset=\"https:\/\/zen-road.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/P1270734small.jpg 819w, https:\/\/zen-road.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/P1270734small-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/zen-road.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/P1270734small-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 819px) 100vw, 819px\" \/>To sit &#8220;without objective&#8221; \u2013 This meditation practice, zazen, is considered to be the essence of Zen by the Soto School, the realisation of the full dimension of each person&#8217;s life.<br \/>\nWithout being limited by a goal or seeking profit.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, in our school, spiritual commitments, such as ordinations, teaching responsibilities, etc &#8230; are not granted definitively but need to be constantly updated by the practice within the sangha (community of practitioners).<\/p>\n<p>This is what is called in the Buddhist tradition, using the three treasures &#8211; Buddha, Dharma, Sangha.<\/p>\n<p>In line with the spirit of Master Deshimaru and his master Kodo Sawaki, we practice zazen within our everyday social and professional lives and those who teach are volunteers.<\/p>\n<p>We are part of the International Zen Association founded by Master Deshimaru and we are organized administratively into a federation of many &#8220;dojo&#8221; (places of practice) in several countries in Europe.<\/p>\n<p>Thus the Sangha Sans Demeure has chosen not to build a temple but to carry on the tradition of &#8216;no fixed abode&#8217;, organizing the practice in various temporary halls.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, in order to promote communication and organization of joint sesshins among all former disciples of Master Deshimaru, we are developing a project to create a larger meeting platform called &#8220;Zen Simply Sitting..&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>[Ch.
